Bour has a nice base hit. Koehler has a strikeout. Morse swings at the first pitch and almost grounded into a double play if not for a bad throw by Porcello.

    Dietrich hitting righties as usual.

How can Deitrich not play vs every RHP?

        .235 BABIP and still productive

Dietrich's has a career .330 MILB BABIP, but career MLB BABIP of .254. Even just putting that up to .290 and assuming they're all singles, that puts his career OPS around .775.

Still don't like him at 2B or 3B because of defense, but he really needs to at least be on the bench when Prado is back and it's a god damn shame Solano got starts the past two years instead.

I think I'm done on Dietrich. Defended him for a while, but he's close to the age where it's make or break time. I don't think he's got a real future as a major league starter (for us at the very least), but he's a good bench bat or replacement option to have. I'm officially of mind that Dietrich has been given sufficient opportunities and hasn't truly taken full advantage of them or improved significantly. With Prado out it doesn't hurt to give him starts until he returns, but given Dee's breakout this year I don't think Dietrich is gonna have a spot in any future starting lineups.
