That $6 million that Dunn is getting over 2 years was not the difference in us not getting James Shields.

That wasn't the point. The point was we had an artificially limited payroll and committed a huge portion of that to relievers. Dunn may not have been the difference, but Dunn+Crow+Cishek very well could have been.

I've wanted to see Dunn traded for awhile. I don't see how you can justify paying a loogy over $3 mill with the financial constraints on this team. I forget who we traded for Crow but the bigger problem was they went out and got Phelps later that month. Cishek should have been gone last deadline but ya know we need a proven closer.
