Missing Fernandez hurts. But I've been banging the "our pitching is overrated" drum for a while now.
Getting Fernandez back and Heaney (hopefully) sliding into that #3 spot would be huge.Comment

We are, however, 8th in FIP and 7th in WAR, according to fangraphs.
Eovaldi hasn't been pitching as well as his periphals. Both he and Alvarez (both 3.37) are in the top 16 of FIP in the NL. 3.70 FIP is the NL average.
Fernandez, Eovaladi, Avarez is a very formidable 1-2-3.Comment

FIP is what their ERA "should" be. xFIP is projecting what their ERA "will" be. That's how I view them, at least. But yeah, the xFIP is not hot.Comment
