Pierre is never been a guy to walk or hit for power. Sure he can steal a base but what good is that when he can't get on base. He's having some bad luck right now but over the course of the year he would probably hit .260 and have an obp of .300. Is that someone you want hitting lead off? Also, he won't be here next year, meaning we can be wasting those at bats on someone who has a chance of being here.

Don't get me wrong, JP has a spot on this team but it is in a reserve role and as a mentor. It doesn't really matter because the status quo will likely change before mid-june.
