  • 8/20/09| Marlins at Astros | 8:05 PM EST

Tonight’s game thread is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This, as you may recognize, is the prodigal Josh Johnson, pitching for the promising young Marlins of Florida. Opponents accustomed to the art of hitting frequently attempt to play the sport of baseball against him but find their efforts fruitless. Just by using his arm, Johnson sends hopeless players back into the abyss of their respective dugouts with their dreams of productivity shattered.

    Josh Johnson(12-2, 2.85) for the 64-56 Marlins.

Now I’d like to introduce the opposing Astros of Houston, TX, and their starting pitcher: Wandy Rodriguez, a promising young pitcher unaware of the terror that awaits him..

Wandy Rodriguez(11-7, 3.05 ERA) for the 58-62 Astros

You unlock this victory with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas; you've just crossed over into… the Twilight Zone!

(Someone obviously needs classes to start back up again)

*DI NE NE NEEE DI NE NE NEEEE*

Wandy's last start against Milwaukee (I think this is the first time I've spelled that out) gave up 10 hits, 10 ER, and 5 BB's through 4 INN.

Johnson's last start, we all know.

*Plays Pit Bull's strangely catchy Marlins fight song* LETS GO FISH!

Wandy = Cy Young at home. His numbers there are sick.

That "picture" of Wandy is so wrong (yet I must still chuckle).

Cantu was a late scratch. Gaby is starting at first batting 8th.

                      New lineup:

                      LF Coghlan
                      CF
                      SS Hanley
                      C Paulino
                      2B Uggla
                      RF Ross
                      3B Helms
                      1B Sanchez
                      SP Johnson
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.
