i'm telling you, if we do decide to get rid of Campbell, it's because holloway has proven something. at the very least if the control continues like this he is a home grown, team controlled bullpen arm with great stuff for a while. If this is legit we got another SP with elite stuff potentially. they have been high on him for years and the stuff has always been evident albeit with awful command, but everything we've seen in the small sample looks promising. The at bats just don't look comfortable for the hitters. Whether that means we found another cheap bullpen arm or we get lucky and he can be a back end rotation guy with dynamite stuff until he gets boxed out by the bigger prospects, either way it's promising news in a season that thus far has been defined by annoying injuries.

If all he becomes is a really good reliever with electric stuff that's the biggest thing we've seen so far this year other than jazz being a stuf.

great pitching matchup today. Scherzer absolutely annihilates us even when we're healthy so this would be a huge game to steal. rogers with another great outing would be enormous but I don't see us having any chance of scoring runs today.
Our lineup's BA by position today-
.000
.200
.187
.316
.182
.304 (leon in small sample)
.000
.000
.000
Scherzer is gonna throw 7-8 easy scoreless innings. We're gonna need to get lucky today. But yet, somehow still just 1.5 out of first in the division. Just tread water until we get healthy. Anderson should at least be back tomorrow which will help a lot but god do we miss marte and jazz.
Not sure why Devers is even up here let alone starting him in a game against Scherzer. Seems cruel. I like his potential as a slap hitter eventually but he is just not ready.Last edited by fish16; 05-02-2021, 12:25 PM.

Great post from even before yesterdays impressive outing showing how elite holloway's peripherals have looked thus far. Really impressed with him and best thing to come out of this year other than jazz so far. Give him the 5th rotation spot for a while and treat him like an opener until we get healthy. Just 2 hits allowed in 7 innings and 1 of them was only ruled a hit because Cooper lost it in the sun yesterday and couldn't be given an error for it.

this game is just about done i would think now. Only way we were going to win this game was a shutout by rogers and getting a cheap run against scherzer or getting him out of the game early. NEver seen anyone kill us like Scherzer or Zimmerman. Just domination. Not sure how anyone ever hits scherzer
