1) It does matter, because he's at least making the pitcher work. Not a great AB, but you can do worse than a six pitch AB that leads to an out.
2) He also has the highest OBP on the team amongst qualified hitters and is one of only three starters whose OBP is over .300
3) He's second on the team in runs created
