The Marlins will try and bounce back after giving up 14 runs to a team that has scored 19 runs this season.
Miami Marlins. Channeling our inner 90s Devil Rays.

I guess the tarp is coming off the field. No start time as yet, though.

                  False alarm

joecapMARLINS: No joke, people, they are covering the field again with the tarp and fans are taking cover. Not raining but apparently a threat of lightning

Looking out from my house the sky is almost black in the direction of where the stadium is.

I would not be opposed to postponing it (especially since it's now been two hours since the game was delayed so Vazquez has got to be done and we'll resume in the second inning) but we don't play the Padres again this year in Miami. We'd either have to make the game up as a strange home and home doubleheader in San Diego when we go there next month (play one game with us as the home team and another with them as the home team) or we'd have to have the Padres come back on another off day like we just did with the Mets.

Really Jack? Isn't this how Giradi blew out JJ's elbow?

While it's true that Javy won't be back after this year, we'd be back to the same place we were when JJ went down; no good viable starter option to replace him. And, aside from about 1 inning in each of his games, Javy has been really good in his last few starts.
