it's not knee jerk, it's true. no one could make a reasonable argument that volstad has been consistent or reliable, vandenhurk has had only a couple starts and we don't even HAVE a fifth starter

How can you say that? He's had like 3 bad starts out of 23. This one and the two back in June. Other than that, he's been pitching well.

We have less of a book on VandenHurk but he's had 1 bad start out of 4. We need a bigger sample size.

You can't just make these kinds of statements after 1 bad start. 3 or 4 in a row, maybe, but not 1.
