This will be another debate that goes around in circles but you guys seriously believe that Badenhop did nothing wrong on that play? He's a fucking professional. There was no one covering. Either throw it to first (he had plenty of time) or hold on to it so you don't throw it into CF. I can't believe I'm discussing this.

This is like the seven steps of grief. Even funnier is said person wrote a hilariously homorific thread about the board being too mean.
Go ahead FIP. Let it all out. I was just pointing out that the constant bickering on the board was counter productive. It was getting out of hand. Sorry that was homorific.
It's OK. If I was almost 30 and had never buried my dick in a vag I would lash out at people as well.
All that semen build up is toying with you and fucking with your head.
To think I wasted several minutes of my life over the years fielding your PM's asking for help on how to not be a complete piece of cement with women. Unreal.

If he's such a professional then why did he do that? You really think he's that dumb? So dumb that he would throw it to second when there's no one there and the runner is halfway to first? No...its an impossible play once he has body moving in that motion. He's thinking double play as soon as that ball is hit...and he's thinking turn around and throw before the ball even gets to him. And before his head and eyes move his body is already going into a throwing position. Like Beef said, its a wonder he didnt throw it into the outfield.STANTON

Daft, I think you are simplifying things way too much there (and being mean).
He has to turn and basically begin his throwing motion at the same time, if the defense does things right and Badenhop waits to make sure someone will be covering, then we probably get annoyed that he was so slow to make a play. Once he begins throwing, its pretty tough to just stop and hold the ball and turn to first. It's not impossible, not its not easy and its such a split second decision that I would have a really really hard time blaming him for still making the throw to 2nd.
I would think that by the time he realized there was nobody covering he was obviously far beyond just holding onto the ball and has such a tiny amount of time to make an adjustment to not throw it away. I'm happy enough Maybin wasn't chasing that ball as a result of the middle infield screwing up.

You and I have a very different perspective on how that play flowed. I saw a pitcher who had time to realize that no one was covering before he started his motion and then had plenty of time to get the out at 1B.
You didn't see it that way so there's not really much we can do about it.
