They're saying that there is a possibilty that JJ may not be able to start opening day. Nothing is certain yet. They just have to see how quickly JJ gets over his flu.

The question with Penn is do we DFA him again, try to trade him or stuff him in the pen. My bet is that we DFA him. I'm still not very sure why we put him back on the 40-man in the first place. Couldn't we have signed him to a minor league deal with a spring training invite like we did with Hensley? Were we really worried that someone would take him in the rule V?
