Wow. That's pretty cool. Another OF, though.

It's crazy that the Orioles basically just let him walk, and a few months later, the Marlins actually get some value for him.

we desperately need to close this game. wouldnt be surprised to see urena go next for a reliever and then call it a day. marte is also a much better leadoff hitter

isnt today the final trde deadline period? didnt they get rid of the distinction on trades a few years back?

I like their moves so far, but the weird thing is, they haven't added a bullpen arm, which is what they needed the most. In fact, you could argue that with Mejia and Smith being dealt, they're subtracting from it (Smith in the rotation could have led to someone else in the pen, and Mejia is probably better off in the pen).

i think they are relying on guys coming back. i dont hate the bullpen when fully healthy, they just need to get fully healthy. i think yimi garcia is gonna be a huge welcome back, plus kintzler and boxburger have been pretty decent, then you have whichever people dont make the rotation like neidert and urena. i think they are fine there.

Ya but u can still DFA guys anytime. Marlins got Stanek/Rodriguez/Harold/Urena/Holloway/Brigham/Neidert and Isan who need to be added back to 40 man if they want to play.

I think he means in the sense of there are extra guys that will need to be removed from the 40-man - can't they still be dealt for guys not on the 60-man? Or does that run out too? And/or guys would have to go through waivers and/or not eligible for postseason rosters? Hard to know for sure with this strange year.

I don't know if this was mentioned, but Marte's slash line against lefties is .379/.438/.483. That's certainly going to help with their issues against left-handed pitching this year.

U can only get guys in return who also have passed thru DFA I think BUT this year with the PTBNL thing its moot.

If u want to do a trade just get a PTBNL in return and send him over when 2021 ML season starts in Nov if needed but most of the DFA guys wont bring tons back anyways

Think long as guy in 60 man pool by Sept 15 they can play in postseason
