Per sources, another #Marlins player tested positive for #COVID19. The now have 18 players in total who have tested postive.

    • This is really just a joke at this point.

      • Mish reports Matt Joyce has been cleared to return...so at least that’s a bit of good news. Barry Jackson says it’s likely the Marlins will remain on the road and face Baltimore, Mets, and Jays. The infected Marlins are going to bus back to Miami today.

the infected marlins are going to bus back to miami today? that seems like a truly awful idea. i highly doubt they would do that

            • We now know Isan Diaz is not one of the 18 positive players, but he is considering opting out.

Per a source close to Isan Diaz, his potential opting out is still a fluid situation. Things could change, but right now, I'm told, it's what he feels would be best if he had to make the decision now.

              • cant really blame him. its only a matter of time before this season gets cancelled. manfred is such an awful commissioner. im not saying its an easy job but for the life of me i cannot understand why him and goodell seemingly take every situation and somehow handle it in the worst possible manner

holy shit i see the story about the marlins bussing every single corona stricken player back. how fucking stupid is mlb? They deserve to have the season cancelled with this stupidity.

1000% correct. Guys positive are getting bussed back to Miami while negative guys and ones who wanna play are going to Baltimore by bus. Baltimore/NY/Buffalo ALL by bus and bubble at hotel

Minor league guys and ones they signed are taking flight from Miami to Baltimore.

Miami is still looking at DFA with arms(Heard the arms are alot of the positive tests) and vets the priority. They expect the "new" guys to only be around till 8/13 so 12 days

"Minor league" guys are Yamamoto/Joyce/Monte/Brinson/Eddy Alvarez/Josh A Smith/Maybe a C or 2 and Travis Snider. Looking at Rob Brantly/Terrence Gore/James Hoyt/Jordan Humphreys/Tyler Bashlor/Dany Jimenez. They have also called the NYY and 3 other teams asking about trading cash for arms

Looking at Hanley/Jason Vargas/Puig and few FA arms but not sure if they are in shape for season yet

They should have enough guys for a 25-30 man team

Find that hard to believe. That would cost Diaz a couple hundred thousand and a year of service time for the sake of possibly avoiding a virus that would most likely inconvenience him very little. I haven't heard of any instance where an athlete suffered much from the symptoms. Of course it's another story if he has a condition that would make the virus a serious threat to him.

                    • By the way the "bus" is for safety. Altitude might make it hard to breathe and they dont want any emergencies. YES a long ass trip but its not like these guys have stuff to do and they are all sick anyways

literally days ago eduardo rodriguez, a perfectly healthy 27 year old, was diagnosed with a heart condition that might impact the remainder of his career due to covid.

U been to Philly? No one wants to stay there for 3 days let alone 3 weeks. Bus to Miami stay at some 5 star resort thats closed and relax.

They want guys close so they can workout and all when negative then be ready on 8/13. Not sit in Philly wait till negative then fly down to Miami. Bring them down now get comfortable for 2 weeks while team is on road and do tests

great joke and all but putting all of these guys on a few busses is truly one of the most idiotic things ive ever seen. this season will no doubt be cancelled within the next week or 2

Well like said its safety really. No one is really sick(what I heard) but few are coughing alot and even oxygen at times. U dont want to be 30,000 feet up with breathing issues-what happens if a guy has emergency? Leave Philly 5AM u in Miami at 11PM check into hotel and chill till u get negative. Get negative go to Jupiter and be ready when team is back in Miami(THIS is FO thinking!!!)

that's some dumbass thinking. there is a reason they say to quarantine when you test positive. it is incredibly stupid and shortsighted and if i were these players id be pissed as hell if they congregated the 18 fucking players who tested positive into a few busses for a long ass car ride
