    - - - - - - - - - -

    Some interesting notes

    Devers #13-Added 20lbs
Pompey #17-Plans to play him at 1B
Quijada #28-Hits 97 and more than a LOOGY

I like that idea with Pompey a lot as he is very blocked (theoretically) with Brinson, VVM, Monte, Miller, Sierra, Scott, likely Osiris to CF, etc. He's the top 1B in the system tomorrow if that's a full time move.

Would be great if Quijada turns into a real pen lefty. Ca. Smith, Stewart, and Quijada is pretty interesting, and that's assuming they ditch Conley. Really no margin of error here as the other lefties are very fringe guys. Maybe Lee works out.

Ya I have mentioned it a few times since Nov. No clue if they move him fulltime or just give him so games there thru the year. Put Pompey at 1B in Jupiter and if he hits u move him up to Jax this year and u have a 1B for 2021

They have some LHP in the system who are interesting question is do they fast track them as RP or keep trying SP? Dylan Lee was a SP till LY and looked solid. Jeff Kinley/Squier are older fringe guys and Mills u have to see what they do with him. Wildcards are Brett Lilek(who has talent but always injured-throw him in Jax and see what he can do) and Sean Guenther(was college closer but they keep trying him as SP)

Trevor Rogers is gonna be the guy to watch for pen in 2020. Keep him as a SP for now but he could turn into Andrew Miller if commit him to pen

Guzman,Cabrera,Yamamoto,Holloway,Rogers are all guys who could be great in the pen

      Jax-Sixto/Puckett/Guzman/Dugger/Beggs
      Jupiter-Garrett/Stewart/Rogers/Cabrera/Holloway

2 Very Nice Rotations that will go along way towards the future

Kolek isn’t a #1 on either of those rotations?

Graves and someone named RJ Alvarez gave up 10 of the 11 runs. Spring innings!

Let's take the positive of these three pitched the first 4 IP and the Cardinals started at least 6 guys on their 25 man roster in the field?

            Alcantara - 2 IP, 3K, 1 H, 1 BB
            Conley - 1 IP, 1 BB
            Brice - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 3 K, 1 UER

Brinson also hit a 2B off of Flaherty and took a walk later. Now has a 3.000 OPS for the spring. #Hope

Yup. Sandy’s outing and Brinson’s 2 at bats were the highlights.

Kolek wouldnt be in the system if they didnt already pay him 6 million

Should try him as power setup man but to be honest he is terrible(control and stuff are both really bad)

My "janitor" friend actually saw him throw and if he wasn't 6'5 250lbs(so he knew it was Kolek) he would have swore he was some Undrafted FA trying out and he would have been told no thanks

Walked off under his own power at least.

Brinson hit a bomb so hopefully that keeps up.

Sucks for vvm but not surprising he injured his hamstring like that after not all playing in real games for so long. Encouraging start for brinson

It’s always surprising to me when a pro athlete injures a hamstring in Spring Training. You literally have all day to warm up, stretch and prepare.

It’s either that or he’s just prone to hamstring issues (Prado).

Don't forget VV didn't go full speed for almost a year. But ya in general its always a headscratcher

2-4 weeks isn't really that.Probably sit out this week then just play in B Games to get into baseball shape. Long as he is ready by April-plan for VV is Minors(Likely AA) then AFL so he is gonna be playing tons anyway

Dean had a good game yesterday and Riley Ferrell was impressive. Urena struggled with command a bit, but his stuff looked good.

Interesting that Granderson has yet to get in a game. They just posted today's lineup and he is not in this game either. Not sure if he's hurt or they are just letting him go at his own pace. Still think they need to sign 1 more OF though.
