As for the shirts it is incredibly terrible and something a lot of fans complain about (and rightfully so). I hate seeing a lot of the bigger sized fans we have see the giveaways and realize they are getting something they can't use. I hope some day this problem gets fixed because it isn't fair to a lot of fans attending the games.
My solution for this is: Make XL sizes for people who are XL and L and make M for M and S people. The M also fits in kids, women, and dudes who are not huge. It's not that hard.

I understand but what does that have to do with many people on the board saying they don’t go to games NOW because it takes too long to get to the stadium and getting out is a nightmare?

Nothing. I was just making a point that it should be addressed in some form.

I've never had parking issues. If you get off on NW 17 Avenue stay left at the fork, it dumps you in the neighborhood north of the stadium where you can usually find parking for most games, even high attendance games. The exit is a breeze since its right next to the Dolphin. (I live in Doral.)

Going south, east, and west is easy after games if you stay on the southern half of the ballpark. You can easily jump on Flagler or 8 Street. If you use the grid and plan accordingly it's convenient getting to the park.

I've never had to get on 95 from the ballpark to go north. If 95N had an exit for NW 3rd Ct you could use it to approach the park via Flagler from the east.

For heritage night tshirts they have distribution points where shirts are assigned by size.

The shirt size thing is a minor thing that actually bugs me a lot too. The heat have only given away XL shirts for 10+ years and now ive just got a ton of XL heat sleeping type shirts that id love to be able to wear somewhere other than bed.

Exactly. It's a minor thing but instead of being pround and using the things they gave away you end up using as a PJ or idk, for construction/cleaning shirt.

Marlins will only give away XL shirts next season.

im sure. I think its a common thing around all teams that give away shirts, but im not sure why other than the ease of just giving out shirts that are all the same size as opposed to shirts that differ in size. I wish at the least though they would give them out in larges rather than extra large (though that could be because i am a size L)

You cant win regardless of what you do. No matter what somebody is always upset.

I mean they could just offer different sizes but given that just about every team does this im assuming there is a decent increase in cost in designing multiple sizes and a difficulty in administering the giveaway.

Like I said, make Ms for people who are M and S (woman and kids) and XL for people who are XL and L. I get really upset over this issue to be honest. It's so simple

I know we talked about it in the other thread, but I felt this thread was more appropriate for the HR sculpture talk....

I was reading this article yesterday where they were talking about it:

                          https://www.fishstripes.com/2018/9/5...an-attractions

                          They had a few proposals:

                          -a water slide for kids

-a sandy beach area with lounge chairs

-Marlins "hall of fame" sort of like Yankees monument park (this is my least favorite idea, as it'll just leave a giant hole in the ground.)

-they also said take the opportunity to movein the fences in that area.

                          ----

If they remove it, though, they could open that entire ground level area up, though - it wouldn't have to be confined to the "bowl" that the sculpture currently rests in.

                          ----

The beach idea isn't crazy, but to me, that would have to be done in conjunction with redeveloping the Clevelander area into a kids-friendly zone with the pool, beach, and water slide (combining a few ideas from the link) - put some live palm trees back in like they originally were going to do. Perhaps they could do something more interactive for kids too - like an aquarium type thing with more fish (ties into the backstops), maybe even a touch/feel tank or something.

I would then redevelop another area of the park and move the Clevelander there (perhaps in the 3B line upper deck between the columns, or under the right field seats?) if they want to keep the nightclub aspect it gives. That would make the idea of having the Clevelander open after the games more difficult, though, as having it on the outer edge/open to the outside lends well to that (they can keep it "separate" from the rest of the park while they clean up/shut things down).

I emailed the Marlins a couple years ago and offered to come down and do sand sculptures on a regular basis if they put a giant sand box at the stadium. Sampson wrote back and said it was a great idea and he would get back to me. Didn't.

In addition to having guest artists make sculptures during games (like they have guest singers for the anthem), there could be an area for others to play (both adults and kids). Here's a video of some of my random sculptures (some great and others not so much) but all completed in no more than an hour or so. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGQ6j7hHfEw

I ahould point out that FAU does the lounge chairs on a sandy beach. Fans seems to enjoy it.

Petco used to have a sand area in the outfield - not sure if they still do?

And remember Marlins execs did go to Petco to tour and see what they do.
