  • Marlins Trade Giancarlo Stanton to Yankees

Wow, it’s done. If the prospects aren’t great I’m fine with that so long as we get major leaguers like Castro, Gardner, or Robertson that we can flip and technically get more prospects for stanton

i dont get how all of these reporters can confirm the deal is done but not one is saying any possible piece coming back our way.

I reported #Yankees are sending at least Castro to #Marlins among veterans and prospects, but not their top ones
We can flip castro really easily, which i assume will be the move. Just adds to the package we are getting for stanton. this might end up being the best deal out there.

Stanton trade to #Yankees happening, as @JonHeyman said.
Craziness. Someone please report the damn package we're receiving already.

Of course jeter's gonna get shit for dealing with the yankees. The hate for him down here already is so absurd. People probably wont even mention that Denbo was in charge of player development for the yankees for years and that is why we would have familiarity with their system.

Curious to see who we get. I hope we don’t try to flip Castro - I really like him. This hurts big time.

castro is an above average 2b making 10+ million for the next 3 years. there is 0 chance he stays here and we dont flip him.

        Wow.

Castro would have to be traded with only 3 years of control. They can’t hold on to assets like that.

Yankees have a good system so hopefully 3-4 nice guys come back even if they miss on Frazier, Adams, Torres, etc.

I’m thinking Sheffield will have to be in it but we’ll see.

Jeter bringing a Castro to Miami. A Castro. INCREDIBLE. CASTRO. AS IN FIDEL CASTRO. ASSASSIN FIDEL CASTRO.

sadly I think even Sheffield will be too good for this deal. I don’t expect any top 15 prospects.

They have plenty of B level prospects outside of their top 10. I wouldn’t mind the two arms they got for McCann last year.

Jim Bowden says Starlin is the only major leaguer, which is good because I thought they’d do some dumb shit like take back Headley or Ellsbury

I expect some very good prospects. But from lower levels. A lot of nice pitchers in low a and high a.

I get that Denbo was in charge of the system, but on the surface to the casual fan, it looks like Jeter's helping out his old team.

Yankee legend buys Marlins and immediately trades NL MVP to Yankees. Not shady AT ALL.

If they keep Castro (who was worse defensively than Deitrich last year) I’m going to fucking lose it.

The Yankees are the only team willing to make a deal that makes sense right now. Stanton rejected the two other deals.

Highly doubt Castro and his remaining $21 million are staying here. He’ll get traded too and has some value.

the casual fan is also a fucking moron, so who really cares? im so sick of jeter getting shit on for stuff completely out of his control.

They probably keep him. I doubt they go all 2006 again
