On the plus side, I feel like the organization actually realizes this current team is not making any sort of run so they are sort of resigned to trading a bunch of guys. seems like a small thing, but this front office has stupidly convinced itself numerous times in past years that average at best teams had a chance at the playoffs and we gave away prospects foolishly.

I keep Yelich, Stanton, Ozuna, Realmuto, and Bour and trade every single veteran pitcher pretty much that you can get anything for.

Is it really that they realized it's not making a run, or is it that they're preparing to sell for a new owner, and otherwise they wouldn't be selling if it weren't for that?

It's he doesn't care anymore. After 7/11(Jeff's Day-MLB is kissing his ass) he is done. He wants to have a new owner picked by the end of the month AND hopefully get rid of all the contracts that expire before 2019. If the ASG wasn't here this year,he might have had an agreement months ago

Both ownership groups have told him that he can get rid of guys that aren't signed long term. They prefer to be able to make decisions on Yelich,Stanton,Ozuna,JT,Bour,Straily themselves

If he wasn't selling he would be trading prospects for SP at the deadline. The guy wants to win however he wants to win cheap. Have a 70 million dollar payroll and be leading the East would be a Jeff Loria Wet Dream

As for rumors,it looks like we will be trading with the NYY atleast. They are interested in Prado,Bour,Ozuna,Phelps,Bearclaw,Tazawa and even Ichiro. I just hope we don't wait till July 30 to start talking to teams-day after ASG Mike Hill better be on phone

Twins and Texas have also checked in on our bullpen arms. If we get a good package I have no issues trading Bearclaw too. Trade Aj,Bearclaw,Phelps,Tazawa,Ziegler,Koehler,Ellingto n(ALL under contract for next year-so we shouldn't get short changed)and McGowan. The lack of bullpen depth around the league could make them ALL in demand

Marlins right fielder Giancarlo Stanton’s mammoth contract isn’t as immovable as it appears, says FOX Sports’ Ken Rosenthal (video link). Stanton has a full no-trade clause, but he’ll likely waive it if the up-for-sale Marlins begin tearing things down, which Rosenthal expects to happen. Further, Stanton would even “talk about his 2020 opt-out,” according to Rosenthal, who points out that the Marlins could facilitate a deal by eating some of the $295MM left on his accord or taking back an expensive contract from a potential trading partner. Rosenthal adds that Stanton’s annual $25MM luxury tax number won’t seem nearly as burdensome as it currently does when soon-to-be free agents such as Bryce Harper and Manny Machado sign more expensive deals.

One reason they are looking to tear things down by 2019,hope being its Stanton and say Realmuto with a whole bunch of 21 yr olds. They could trade Stanton who would waive his NO trade clause and agree to OPT out in 2020 instead of playing on a crap team. The new owners would trade Yelich,Bour,Straily too BUT wanna do it themselves before 2019 NOT let Jeff

This current FO should not be allowed to make any major future decisions. Just one of many reasons this sale needs to get completed ASAP.

Thats why business for us will pick up 2 or 3 days after the ASG. If they have an agreement u will see ALOT more guys dealt. If not it will likely be Non tender guys and FA this year only. If they do then guys like Tazawa/Ziegler/Volquez/Prado

Supposedly Jeff and all groups have agreement that they can only trade guys who contract expire before 2019 season(They want to really make the decisions on Stanton/Yelich/Bour/JT/Straily but if somehow Jeff can get rid of Prado/Gordon/Chen contracts they would be open to it). So Non Tender guys/FA this year and next/club controlled. Some confusion on Prado,Gordon and Chen BUT some have said that if they can move those contracts they will let them

The main goal for all the groups seems to clear the way for 2018-19 season

He occasionally did that here too. He'd hit well for a few games and then be an automatic out for a month.

                      • Peter Gammons Tweeted that Boston called on Prado, but it sounds like talks didn't get far.

The deal is what kills Prado-if he didn't have 2 years on it after this year it would be alot easier to move.

Teams calling want us to throw cash in(NO chance Jeff does that/maybe new owners do?)

Each of those teams possesses a top 20 overall prospect. I wonder if Torres, Jimenez, Devers, Rodgers, or Brinson are in play.
