There has been some ongoing rumors about Miami Marlins owner Jeffrey Loria and his feelings toward outfielder Marcell Ozuna.
Many in the industry reportedly think he will soon be traded because Loria "can't stand the guy."
Despite Loria's supposed dislike of Ozuna, he's been a productive player on the field -- which is why new hitting coach Barry Bonds and manager Don Mattingly want him on their team.
According to Nick Cafardo at the Boston Globe, teams have inquired on Ozuna, but Bonds and Mattingly have pushed back:
"Up to 10 teams have inquired and/or have serious interest. But Marlins executives are getting pushback from new hitting coach Barry Bonds and manager Don Mattingly, feeling they can shape Ozuna into a 30/30 performer."
Ozuna had a breakout campaign in 2014, hitting .269 with 23 home runs and 85 RBI, but struggled in 2015, owning a .259 average with 10 home runs and 44 RBI in 123 games.
A midseason demotion caused his agent Scott Boras to question to teams' decision, leading to some back-and-forth between he and the front office.Originally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.

The way the Miami Marlins are currently set up, they've got a young team -- and more specifically a young outfield. With Marcell Ozuna, Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich, all three of the starters are 26 years old or younger.
However, with trade rumors swirling around Ozuna, it makes sense that the Marlins could seek outfield help outside of the organization. According to a report from Jon Heyman at CBS Sports, they're doing exactly that:
@JonHeyman
Marlins are looking at a couple righthanded bats, including Jeff francoeur. Would be nice veteran add for clubhouse.
Jeff Francoeur, 32, spent the majority of the 2014 season in the minors, but had a decent season off the bench for the Philadelphia Phillies in 2015. In 119 games, he hit .258/.286/.433 with 13 homers and 45 RBI.
If Ozuna is moved, the Marlins could add Francoeur to platoon with Derek Dietrich and Ichiro Suzuki in the outfield.
Of course, this article wouldn't be complete without the addition of the legendary video "On Jeff Ears," in which Francoeur's minor league teammates play a month-long prank, convincing him one of them is deaf:
Francoeur owns a .261/.304/.418 career slash line across 11 big league seasons.

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Marlins "remain in active negotiations" with free agent left-hander Wei-Yin Chen.
Rosenthal first reported the Marlins' interest over the weekend and while other teams are involved, apparently the possibility has some legs. It's a bit of a surprising fit given the team's frayed relationship with agent Scott Boras, but the Marlins could certainly use another quality arm behind Jose Fernandez. Chen turned down a qualifying offer from the Orioles, so he is attached to draft pick compensation. However, because the Marlins' first-round pick is protected, they would only have to surrender a second-round pick to sign him.

The IFA Pool was suppose to give all teams the chance but seems we have no desire in it. I wish Jeff would sign at least 1 of them-then he could say well I can't spend anymore cash for 2 years.

Also the Chen "negotiations" have been going on like a month. He wants ALOT more than we are offering tho. Its cute tho that Boras calls it negotiating when it really is we want 5/80 and keep sending us offers until its that. We reportedly offered like 3/42-45
The 2nd Rd pick means 0 to us tho so its a mute point.

Where the hell is a Maxwell,Frenchie gonna fit in that? They don't the only way they fit is as a RHB option/platoon. Stanton and Yelich won't be sitting. Well Stanton will when he gets hurt like usual and u better believe Jeff will be pushing for Ichiro to get to 3,000 hits(NEEDS to sell merch)

"Where the hell is a Maxwell, Frenchie gonna fit in that?"
Potentially the minor leagues where they arguably belong.
Those guys probably wouldn't start for any team in the major leagues and they wouldn't even make a team's bench out of Spring Training in most cases. They're depth players.

@flasportsbuzz
Also am told Marlins are signing Chris Johnson, a career .280 hitter as right-handed bat off bench. Can spell Bour vs lefties

wasn't Johnson the guy who started yelling at 3B during the Jose Fernandez home run trot?Originally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.
