  • Medica Claimed, McGough Recalled

That's it. No Wittgren, no Reed. Oh, and Medica is staying in Triple-A after hitting .259/.314/.364 with 5 home runs and 16 doubles.

Don't know what the hold up on Wittgren is. Came in as a college experienced arm, posted 2 great seasons, a so so season, and now a good season in AAA. Now he'll be a month from 25 years old even if he does get a chance at the start of next season.

Look, it doesn't matter since Wittgren isn't the decider between the playoffs or not this year and his development really hasn't been that hurt. But it would be ridiculous to say he shouldn't have seen the majors by now. Instead we're giving opportunities to career AAAA guys who should have little to no future with the team.

Yeah, I think it's odd. Oh well, he'll be added to the 40 in November.

Why? He doesn't have to be put on the 40 man. Let him come to ST and if he pitches well then u can put him on. If he can't beat out Ellington/Capps/Bearclaw then send him back to AAA

They really need to figure out the lefty thing this offseason. Got Reed,Lazo,Hand,Conley ready and Ege,Nappo in AAA

As for Medica, they see him as a platoon option at 1B. Kinda like a tryout for him,if he can hit lefties cool and if not DFA

        Ichiro/DD/Rojas/Mathis or Telis/?

Pretty sure Wittgren has to be added to the 40 this off-season. Almost positive.

U are correct I got it mixed up.

If a player not on a 40-man roster has spent four years with a minor-league contract, originally signed when 19 or older or five years when signed before the age of 19, he is eligible to be chosen by any team in the rule 5 draft during the offseason.

Guess they wanted to get looks at other guys like Scooter? No chance tho they don't put him on.

One name that will probably get picked is Yefri Perez. We won't protect him and is exactly what teams like. Will be 25 and could be a solid 4th OF for teams. Think Deshields/Odubel Herrera type except his bat might be worse than Issac Galloway and he barely can hit A Ball hitting

Deshields and Herrera both had mid-700 OPS in the minors while being young for their level.

Yefri Perez has a .555 OPS as a 24 year old in Jupiter.

Why in the world would anybody pick him?
