So, assuming the Marlins have a protected first round pick in next year's draft, and how bad their pitching currently is, do the Marlins try and make a splash and sign Price, Cueto or Zimmermann? Personally I feel more confident and comfortable giving big money to those options than what was available this past off-season.

They should regardless of if the pick is protected. But I doubt they'll sign any big contracts until Loria sells the team.
