  • Postgame: Marlins Fall to Braves 3-5, Stanton Blasts Two HR's

We'd be doing better if the Marlins got a run for every 100 feet Stanton's HRs travel. Or if the bullpen wasn't crappy so often.

Phelps is cool. ERA is 2.68, FIP is 2.58, and xFIP is 4.05 on the year. As a starter, ERA is 1.75, FIP is 2.46 and xFIP is 3.89. He still hasn't given up a home run.

Anyone concerned about Yelich and his regression at this point?

No. His K rate is high but he also has a total of 79 plate appearances. Walk rate is normal. BABIP is .255 vs .356 last year and he should be able to maintain a .350 BABIP.

Doesn't K rate normally stabilize at around 100 PA's? The k rate seems like a real issue, especially since it's in large part due to the fact that he's swinging and missing a lot more. His swstrk% is up to around 12% now. If his k rate is going to be up near 25+%, he becomes less intriguing as a player. Not that I think he'll be terrible, but this start of his is certainly discouraging to say the least.

He's had 30 PAs since returning from the DL. I'd give it more than 100 to stabilize in this case regardless of when it normally stabilizes. If it doesn't stabilize, he's made a significant change in his game which would be alarming considering he's never posted 25% k rate at any level in his professional career when he had at least 100 PAs.
