Reason: Doublepost Merged
Seems to have lost ~2.5 MPH from his fastball in 2014, along with the dip in Ks and increase in HRs. The park should help the HRs, at least. Decent buy-low swap for a likely future AAAA spot starter.
Cishek has to be getting traded. It makes absolutely no sense to keep him at this point.
None at this point.
But this is a good move as Flynn was likely not going to be much and Redman is more of a project. Kind of interesting though because Crow is going to make $1.5 million over the minimum, and the whole idea of trading Cishek/etc. is to clear payroll to spend elsewhere. But whatever, not a lot and really shouldn't dictate if the Marlins can afford anything else.
I'm pretty content if the bullpen is Ramos, Morris, Crow, Capps, Hatcher, Dunn, and Hand/Jennings (depending on if Hand/Heaney get the # 5 spot). Those 7 guys are basically pushing Cishek's salary overall so really good value.
I think Crow isn't good (always had bad peripherals and last year was super bad) but I also don't think Flynn really becomes anything so it's whatever. It's more-so the 2m I care about.
