I think he geniunely means it when he says that stuff about the opt out, but we'll see how he feels 6 years from now (regardless of how well the team does).

IT'S OFFICIAL: Marlins, Giancarlo Stanton Agree to 13 Year/$325 Million Deal

The Miami Marlins outfielder yesterday signed a 13-year, $325 million contract, the richest in North American sports history. Stanton will surrender about $141 million, or 43.3 percent of the total after federal, state, city and payroll taxes, according to Robert Raiola, a certified public accountant who specializes in sports and entertainment. That brings Stanton’s haul to about $184.1 million. Florida has no state income tax.
The calculation, Raiola said in a telephone interview, is based on current rates and the assumption that the 25-year-old Stanton lives in Florida. It also uses the Marlins’ 2015 road schedule, which will vary year to year, as a baseline for future travel.
I don't think that is accurate. Is it?LHP Chad James-Jupiter Hammerheads-

As I told mm21 on facebook tax in that income bracket is huge.
If he made a million bucks a year he'd probably lose 350k to taxes, but that isn't an interesting headline.
He'd be losing much more in California or Massachusetts where state income tax comes into play.Originally posted by Madman81Most of the people in the world being dumb is not a requirement for you to be among their ranks.
