3 Marlins Named Finalists for Gold Glove Award

  • 3 Marlins Named Finalists for Gold Glove Award

    Shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria, left fielder Christian Yelich and right fielder Giancarlo Stanton have been named finalists at their respective positions for the 2014 Rawlings Gold Glove Award.

    Hech will try and beat out Cincinnati's Zack Cozart and Atlanta's Andrelton Simmons. Yelich is joined in left with Atlanta's Justin Upton and Pittsburgh's Starling Marte. Stanton will also have to beat out Atlanta's Jason Heyward and Arizona/Milwaukee's Gerardo Parra.

    The winners will be announced November 11 at 8 p.m. E.T.

    Just him being named a finalist guarantees the Marlins will overpay Hech to keep him a Marlin for life. Smh.

              The Gold Glove announcement is on and for shortstop they would give some statistic of how well defensively the player is, and all they said for Hech was "He had six Web Gems." lol

                Come on now. It was definitely more than six, and I think they said he had the most Web Gems among shortstops. And at least they gave a note...when they mentioned Brandon Phillips, they gave no information on his defensive prowess.
