So glad they sacrificed a draft pick. I guess Morris is cool so far but who knows how good he will be next year.

          Fuck.

What does that have to do with Kevin Gregg?
            --------------------
            Anyway, since we're doing this

Bryan Morris was traded for the 39th pick in the draft.

B-R has him at 1.7 WAR since we acquired him.

Career WAR of players taken with the 39th pick from 1980-2014

            2014 Connor Joe 0.0 - hasn't played yet
2013 Corey Knebel -0.1 - traded to Texas, 2.84era in AAA
2012 Joey Gallo 0.0 - big power prospect
            2011 Larry Greene 0.0 - hitting .194/.274/.291 in A ball this year
            2010 Anthony Ranaudo 0.0 - highly regarded
            2009 Kentrail Davis 0.0 - in AA at 26, .750ops career
            2008 Lance Lynn 6.0
2007 James Adkins 0.0 - out of baseball, made it to AAA (4ip)
            2006 David Huff -1.5
2005 Hank Sanchez 0.0 - never made it out of A ball
2004 Jay Rainville 0.0 - made it to AA
            2003 Tony Gwynn 6.3
            2002 Mark Teahen 2.4
2001 Wyatt Allen 0.0 - made it to AAA (5ip)
2000 Chad Hawkins 0.0 - never made it out of A+, out of baseball in 3 years
            1999 Jerome Williams 3.3
1998 Mamon Tucker 0.0 - made it to AA (40ab)
            1997 Jason Romano -1.3
1996 Gary Locurto 0.0 - never made it out of A, out of baseball in 3 years
1995 Mike Pasqualicchio 0.0 - made it to AAA (6ip)
1994 Victor Rodriguez 0.0 - made it to AAA (629ab - all in Mexican Lg)
1993 Joe Wagner 0.0 - made it to AA
1992 Dave Landaker 0.0 - .552 OPS in High A, out of baseball in 4 years
            1991 Dan Cholowsky 0.0 - 8 minor league seasons, .733ops
1990 Samuel Hence 0.0 - never made it out of A+
            1989 Joe Grahe 4.2
1988 Ben Howze 0.0 - never made it out of A+
            1987 Todd Hundley 10.8
            1986 William Taylor 0.0 - 8 minor league seasons, .638ops
            1985 Dave Otto 0.4
            1984 Keith Miller 3.8, but didn't sign so 0.0
            1983 Andy Allanson 0.8
            1982 Barry Bonds (!!!!!) 162.4 but he didn't sign, so 0.0
            1981 Neal Heaton 8.6
1980 Larry Knight 0.0 - never made it out of A, out of baseball in 4 years

Morris is already the 8th most valuable usage of the 39th pick in the last 35 years with the jury still out on probably 4 of them (Joe, Knebel, Gallo, Ranaudo).

They didn't sacrifice the pick. Loria just rather spend the cash on Morris and Gregg. I know hard to believe but Loria prefers spending cash on guys that can help the major league team and not 1.7 million on a 17 yr old.

Oh yeah, that's what it had to do with Kevin Gregg.

Anyway, that trade still worked out wonderfully.

You have no idea what Loria prefers.

I actually doubt that, remember that insane necklace he bought Hanley?
