    JCR: Fernandez to Undergo Season-ending Elbow Surgery

    Not good.

    Marlins ace Jose Fernandez is having an MRI in Los Angeles, reports Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald. The nature of his injury -- extent, body part, etc. -- is unknown. Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports says Fernandez is expected to be placed on the disabled list.

    The Marlins are currently in Los Angeles for a series against the Dodgers.

        They'll probably bring up Flynn I would guess. They do have a 40-man spot, but bringing Heaney up now would make him a super two if he sticks.

            Or they'll put Slowely/Hand in the rotation and bring up Jennings

              The way top young pitchers have been catching elbow injuries like the plague this year, I wouldn't be surprised if he needs Tommy John surgery, too.

                It's funny that no one's figured out how this team works yet. It'll be Hand in the rotation, and they'll go with Rodriguez and Jennings in the pen.

                        At least if it's worst case tommy john, it's early enough in the season for him to be back for Opening Day next year of what could (Should? Maybe) be a contending team.
