Yay.
Second of all: Yay, 7 year contract that doesn't really escalate until we get into the new stadium.
Thirdly: We did with Hanley what we should have done with Miggy and bought him out under market value. We weren't going to have Miggy for more than two years anyways. We have Hanley for 6 more. The two are completely incomparable. Uggla is going to be the guy who isn't going to be here next year, not Hanley.
I know you're the neighborhood skeptic and all, but that's a pretty terrible logical conclusion.

And the diva part about not telling fredi was his cutting the reporter off and not letting him finish the question.

Here's a little more on the fight...
Hanley Ramirez is at odds with double play partner Dan Uggla and other teammates over Ramirez's percieved lack of desire and commitment to winning.Uggla also accused Ramirez of not caring because he's already secured a $70 million contract. Ramirez and Uggla openly argued in the clubhouse about why Ramirez really exited Tuesday's rain delayed game in the fourth inning. Ramirez complained about teammates showing him up when he came out because of cramping in his left hamstring. Uggla admitted to being among those players that threw up their arms in resignation. Ramirez is hitless in his last 14 at-bats and has stuggled recently with runners in scoring position, going 2 for his last 17. Ramirez has no doubt some teammates feel like he faked the injury to preserve his National League-leading batting average, a claim he feels is insulting.Last edited by THE_REAL_MIBS; 09-02-2009, 05:59 PM.

That's no reason to go crazy and trade him or anything like that, because it's not like Hanley's the only guy in baseball history not to (allegedly) get along with his teammates. And I'm sure he's not even the only guy on the team that others (allegedly) resent. But it's never good to have a split clubhouse.
Hey, when does Fredi get blamed for not stepping up to prevent a fractured team?
