So you're saying getting hit on the hand in a meaningless spring wind up game could cost Lucas, a career minor leaguer, $200k? No way. Not sure if I'm understanding that correctly, but if so, wow what a bad day for him. I feel poorly for him.

What a tough break for Lucas who finally made a team. Horrible.

Even more so that I think the Marlins can keep him on MILB DL since camp didn't break which is going to cost Lucas $150-200k (assuming he was up the entire time, which obviously isn't a certainty).

I don't know all the ins and outs of split deals, but he would be on the Marlins DL, so he should get full, major league payment. If they sent him down now he could file a grievance saying they sent him down to not pay him.

Ed Lucas is gonna be out 4-6 weeks. Since the Marlins just sent Solano down, his option will not be used yet.
