Is he going to start every day at 3B? If so, I'm not a fan.

Didn't cost us a prospect or player, so I'm happy.

Very true. Could provide some good pop, which is something needed.

It's only good if you're of the mindset that no one-year deal can really be bad.

Edit: Which is true. But this really doesn't add much to the team in the grand scheme of things. It's pretty much a waste of time.

Just like Furcal its worth the gamble

If he does something and we are done,we can deal him

I think the offseason is pretty much over for us now.
                C - Saltalamacchia
                1B - Jones
                2B - Furcal
                3B - Mcgehee
                SS - Hech
                LF - Yelich
                CF - Ozuna
                RF - Stanton

                SP1 - Fernandez
                SP2 - Eovaldi
                SP3 - Alvarez
                SP4 - Turner
SP5 - Koehler or cheap veteran

                Closer - Cishek
Rest of the pen - Capps, Dunn, Ramos, Jennings, Caminero, young guy or cheap veteran
                --------------------
^ + a bench of Mathis, Solano, Lucas, Dobbs and Bogusevic.

I still hold out hope that the Marlins can deal Dobbs and sign Chavez to split time at first and third, as well.

More competition in Spring Training can't hurt.

Mcgehee won't be competing for anything. He's the starting 3B.

It's a MLB deal, not really competition.

The only "real" competition is Ozuna/Marisnick for the last OF spot and I guess Koehler/Hand/Flynn/Vagabond for the 5th SP slot. Everything else is last 2 spots on bench (Solano, Lucas) and last three spots in pen (Jennings, Caminero, Koehler/Hand).

Pretty ho-hum unless they do something big and shoot out Cishek for a longterm guy.

Eric Chavez resigned with the D-Backs, so this is not happening, guys.

Oh...I would've thought a guy coming back from Japan would be getting a minor league deal with a Spring Training invite.

                            Carry on.

Not when he had a $1.5 million offer to return to Japan.
