Agreed, Dunn could easily be replaced by Dayton who has dominated lefties in the minors.

Still don't understand the lack of buzz over Conley or how he is consistently ranked below Nicolino.

      • I would not trade Ruggiano, Dunn or Conley for Weeks.

        Weeks is terrible.

        • @ShaneMiller27: Source: The #Marlins would trade Justin Ruggiano and one of these four Mike Dunn, Adam Conley, Brian Flynn or Tom Koehler in deal for Weeks

Any combination or Ruggs and Flynn or Koehler is fine with me.

He's actually pretty decent now that I take a look at his numbers and videos. Seems to be the same thing as Ruggiano, with less speed and from the left side of the plate.

A source close to Rickie Weeks told me that a deal is still in the works to bring him to #Marlins

            • Yup. Sounds good to me. I would just like to know who replaces Ruggs in that trade now, maybe Dobbs?

              • One could only hope but I doubt that. Probably another prospect since we'd need MIL to give a lot of cash.

                • Looks like they selected 1B Justin Bour from the Cubs in the AAA portion of Rule 5.

                      • This is where they are at just to type it out

                        C- Salty
                        1B - Jones
                        2B - Furcal
                        SS - Hecha
                        3B - Dietrich
                        LF - Yelich
                        CF - Ozuna
                        RF - Stanton
B - Mathis, Dobbs, Bugosevic, Solano, Lucas

SP - Fernandez, Eovaldi, Alvarez, Turner, Koehler/Hand
RP - Cishek, Ramos, Dunn, Capps, Jennings, Caminero, Koehler/Hand

That's $44 range, with Bell money.

                        • They probably reach $50MM if Brewers eat about half of Weeks $11MM.

                          • Best case scenario for me would be to acquire an outfielder who can hit LHP, a starting 3B, and a backup 1B/3B who hits lefties. Dump Dobbs, Ozuna and Dietrich to the minors

                            vRHP
                            2B-Furcal
                            CF/LF Yelich
                            RF Stanton
                            1B Jones
                            C Salty
                            CF/LF Bugosevic or
                            3B - ?? Depending who this is
                            SS Hecha
B- Mathis, lefty hitting OF, lefty hitting 1B, Solano, Lucas

                            vLHP
                            2B-Furcal
                            3B-Lucas
                            RF Stanton
                            LF-Outfielder who hits lefties
                            1B-Guy who hits lefties
                            CF-Yelich
                            SS-Hecha
                            C-Mathis
B - Salty, primary 3B, Bugosevic, Jones, Solano

Would give them a fighting chance and if anyone sucks, they could likely mix and match starting lineup and call up Ozuna/Marisnick/Dietrich if they take off.

                              • I bet they could trade Cishek and Dobbs to Mil for Weeks, a top SP prospect, a power arm, and say $2 million. Maybe Marlins throw in someone like Dyson to clear 40 man space. Brewers shore up pen, Marlins get Weeks 1/$5 (as Cishek and Donbs clear $5 mil) and value for Cishek with young starter.

Marlins bullpen isn't really effected as there are so many arms, and they could go two unglamorous guys to hit lefties like Delmon and Mark Reynolds for cheap.

That's a $50 mil team give or take. Just plug Weeks, Delmon and Reynols above.

I also realize those names aren't sexy, but it is what it is and it could be bang for the buck if those guys are true to their career splits.
