I dont understand pinch hitting with Mathis. Yea Brantly has struggled against lefties but Mathis is almost equally as terrible against them.
Its like choosing whether you would rather step in dog shit or cat shit with your bare feet. Neither option is good.

Well even worse was the fact that he knew he would have to use to pinch hitters in a row, and Redmond somehow, inexplicably, chose Mathis to be the first pinch-hitter before Ozuna, instead of the other way around. Luckily Ozuna came through so it didn't matter, but that made no sense to me.

I understand his reasoning: By hitting Mathis first, it keeps the pitcher spot at #9.
Not saying I agree with it though. If no outs, then I think right call. But we needed at least a flyball then
