$7 million, free agent after 2009.

About $1.75 here on forward I'm guessing.

Wonder what we'd have to give up for him?

Also, I wonder if this potential move is more for this year or the future?

I mean, we are going to have to give up something of pretty good value to get him, and as much of an optimist as I am, we are 4.5 GB of a playoff spot. I can't see us doing this for just one month of Harden.

Harden is 1000000000000x better plus if he's injured, oh well, he's gone at the end of the season.

FWIW, they're reporting up here that the Twins claimed Harden (and Penny, too)

I'd take either Penny or Harden
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

I see give or take 18 guys above Harden (who has 120 IP) when it comes to a Type A argument. And that's the Spring 2009 list. And we're not including Johnson, Jurrjens, Carpenter, Kershaw, Pineiro, Lannan, Dempster, Jimenz, Marquis, even Zito

He's literally just going to sneak in if he is. I would guess a B

I think if you trade for Harden, you re-sign him (if you can)

I agree. If not, then he's going to be one heck of an expensive one-month rental.

                            He's Type A going by http://www.scribd.com/doc/19002885/Rankings-082209

You have to remember that last year, it was 2007-2008 and he only had a total of 4 starts in '07. now that's it's 08-09 he has a total 47 starts for the time period.

My understanding is we put in a claim, but since the Twins have a worse record, they were awarded the claim.

                              Still rather murky details.

In any event, I hope we get him, work out a trade for him, and keep him beyond 2009.
