Starter Kevin Slowey departed Wednesday’s series finale against the Phillies after five innings with a left lat strain. He is day-to-day, but the initial prognosis is good.

“I felt it the first couple of warm-ups and made the call,” said Slowey, who initially experienced a grab on a slider to Domonic Brown to end the fourth. “Our doc already got his hands on me and felt it’s not severe. It’s not something he’s worried about. Hopefully it’s more of a cramp than a strain.”
