  • We no longer have the worst run differential in baseball.

    Thanks, Blue Jays

    • Of the five players the Blue Jays acquired in the blockbuster Marlins trade Johnson and Jose Reyes are on the disabled list, Mark Buehrle has a 6.43 ERA, Emilio Bonifacio is hitting .179, and John Buck is having a career-year … for the Mets.

I was trying to learn more about how the Marlins strength and conditioning folks got JJ hurt for the Blue Jays and caught that paragraph.

      • They kept Reyes healthy when he was with us and everyone always cites him as someone who can't stay healthy.

        • I think we determined they can keep guys healthy, but once they get hurt they cannot fix them.

          • Maybe we should consider outsourcing that part. It might save some money too.

              • I'm not interested in run differential. I'm interested in run pace.

                • 1962 Mets never scored 14 runs in a game.

                  • Through 32 games:

                    Code:
                    2003 Detroit Tigers 7-25 --
                    2013 Miami Marlins 10-22 3
                    1962 New York Mets 12-20 5
                    Game 33 Results:

                    62 NYM: LOSS
                    03 DET: LOSS

                    Current Projected Record: 51-111
                    Current Projected Pyth Record: 57-105

                    Current Projected Run Differential: -197

Fun Fact: AdamRavs now has the best run differential of all posters at +13. Next closest is +3.

How the fuck do the fact that the sum of the two legs of a right triangle squared equals the length of the hypotenuse squared to find records of a baseball teams? I don't see how the side lengths for right triangles has any impact on how the Marlins will do this season.

The name comes from the formula's resemblance to the Pythagorean theorem.
