As crappy as Lomo has the potential of looking, I think his absence in the lineup is a huge factor in our pitifulness. Lomo in the lineup allows Polanco to get on base in front of Stanton, and Stanton seeing a man consistently on base in front of him could change some things in his mental approach. And if you don't believe in the mental aspect of his failures in the early season, then you believe he will turn it around eventually, and it would be better to have men on base when he finally turns it around.

And of course backing Stanton up with Lomo is considerably better than backing him up with Polanco and Dobbs. Dobbs of the bench is more useful than Dobbs starting everyday, etc. I think this offense misses Lomo more than we realize.

Pretty close. I think we've played a very tough schedule early this season so by default we won't keep up this bad of a pace, but I'd be very surprised if we approach 60 wins.

How is the normal projected record calculated?

Because if you just project out our current record over 162 games, our record would be 35-127

                        You said this.

So Reyes has been dogshit because he got hurt?

Baseball players get hurt. I know, I know, it's crazy but its true.

He also gets hurt more often and for longer than most.

I forgot how much a DL'ed Reyes contributes.

                              That's on me. Sorry.
