    6. which will be enough to extend the season's life support another week, but not enough to give hope for a full recovery

      8.

I have us taking all three from the Padres. They are not good and we swept them in San Diego.

I have my reservations about tomorrow's game. West vrs. Santana does not look like a winnable game to me but I think we take the other two.

We should be able to take 2 of 3 from the Braves.

I don't like W/L speculative threads, but I still voted for to put in anti-jinx into effect.

Doesn't matter what I think...what I know is that we need to win 8 in order to even have a shot.

We also need other teams to lose a bunch of times

That's the problem- Phillies and Rockies seem to be pretty hot now.

                              scared of West?

Mets starting pitcher Johan Santana will have his left elbow examined Tuesday rather than make his scheduled start against the Marlins in Miami.

Manager Jerry Manuel announced after the Mets' loss to the Phillies on Monday that Santana has experienced pain in the elblow since before the All-Star break and that he, Manuel, is "terribly concerned."

Santana left Citi Field Monday before the announcement was made.
