I just mean that they don't plan on sending him down. I find that odd too I guess. This whole thing is like a bad dream.

This does not make any sense. Why are they going to start his clock when the team is nowhere close to being competitive and he's nowhere near ready? By the time this group is ready to compete, if they ever are, he's going to be arbitration eligible and you know they won't buy him out.Last edited by Party; 03-31-2013, 01:18 PM.

@Buster_ESPN: RT @JCRMarlinsbeat: Beinfest on Fernandez, who has not pitched above high-A: "It just seems like he's ready to do this. This is where he should be." #Marlins

Or are you just making fun of tj?
I also don't know that it's stupid. Just because it didn't work with some guys doesn't mean those guys were destined for greatness but got called up and lost all confidence or whatever other reasons people give.
Perhaps it's best to get more work at lower levels and more hands on work with ptching instructors, but he might get that stuff in the majors. I don't know. But what I won't do is act like its the most ridiculous thing ever just because its the marlins

Giancarlo Stanton, who hit nearly 40 home runs in single A, had to do AA. If Stanton wasn't ready for the majors (and he WASN'T), Jose Fernandez, who wasn't allowed to pitch more than five innings in any start, isn't ready.
This is absolutely insanely stupid, especially when this is a lost season and Jacob Turner makes much much much more sense to fill that space. Again, this is absolutely stupid, even if Fernandez dominates. Speeding up his clock for absolutely no reason.
Hell, Yelich is probably more ready to be in the majors than Fernandez (even if Fernandez is the better prospect), and I'd rather see him spend at least half a season in AA.
But that Beinfest statement, where they say "He just seemed ready"...Well, Mike Redmond made the EXACT SAME STATEMENT about Yelich. Why one over the other?
