Based on the projection of being sidelined for 6 weeks wouldn't we expect him in May. It would be a horrible idea to give up an asset for a backup catcher but grabbing a DFA at the end of spring training isn't a bad idea. Inflating Skipworth's confidence in the PCL is probably better than letting him get crushed in the majors for a month to start the season.

Yes he is,the only problem is I think he makes too much now for us. More than likely we will just get someone off the scrap heap when rosters are cut down. The biggest problem this causes tho is now we have to open up a spot on the 40 man roster

Looking at the out-of-options list, the only guys that are out of options and are in danger of losing their roster spot are Brett Hayes or George Kottaras from Kansas City (with one of them winning the backup gig.) So if we go outside the organization, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with one of those guys. That or a catcher who currently is a non-roster guy and gets released.
