#Marlins decided to trade Escobar when after first telling him he was comfortable at third came back to them and said he wasn't.
        that changes things a bit

if it's true, which contradicts his own statements

          I was same progression haha

LH IFers are pretty damn rare due to needing to throw RH; Rest him against lefties with the abundance of RH IFers to platoon with and let him mash righties.

The trade made it to the sports page of the Herald . . . barely. lol.

Does this Dietrich guy, or "The trich" as we say in English have a ceiling higher than what Escobar is now? Did he ever beat Florida? Does mk7 still think that Coughlin is the apex of comedy?

He never played or beat Florida.

Chris Coghlan, on the other hand, beat Florida 7 times in 9 attempts. So perhaps we've written him off too quickly.

Chris Relf also beat Florida, so, ya know?

"We don't have in our organization very good infield depth at this point," Beinfest said. "He's a good looking hitter. He can play second, short, third base, We'll see where he ends up."

Dietrich is expected to play third base and shortstop at Class AA Jacksonville next year.

Seems like classic Marlins. SS/3B in minors, immediately moves to 2B when he gets to majors.

                    • This is a guy they liked, they see him as a Dan Uggla type but bats lefty and has a better glove

While they liked Grant Green, hearing the reason why they went with this deal is because Dietrich is younger and can play 2B

Not sure bout the story of him playing SS/3B at Jax tho,I hear he will play 2B/SS,Perio will stay in Jupiter and Barnes will be moved back behind the plate at Jupiter

Also expect us to keep looking for middle infield help in the Rule 5 Draft tommorrow as they don't expect Dietrich to be up until 2014
