Kim of course goes to Tampa for 2 years 29 million. An absolute 0 risk, extremely high reward smart signing for a cheap but extremely well run franchise. 0 reason why we couldn’t have matched that. Would

That requires spending some sort of money which Bruce has no interest in doing…with their built-in excuse of “spending when it’s “time””, which they can keep kicking the can down the road by self-sabotaging

Probably not, but what I hate is that there’s no vision whatsoever of even attempting to sign anyone that could be a trade target at the deadline to speed up this endless rebuild process

Savvy Free Agent signings that can be used for trade value would be useful, but the FO can't be bothered.

Miami does that with relievers. Teams will always overpay for relievers at the deadline.

A 29 year old coming off a season with a 96 OPS+ is a bit risky to take a chance on just to be a trade chip.

I too would like to see some free agents but spending just to spend is dumb.

I think a great offseason would have been Conforto(Dodgers, $17 million), Tyler O'Neil(Orioles, $16,500,000 per year/3 years), Pete Alonso(same deal Giants have Chapman; $18 million for one year with two option years), Bregman(4 years, $140 million), and Flaherety(2 years, $25 million).

I don’t know, signing a SS when there is currently 0 major league SS’s on the roster doesn’t seem like the craziest thing I’ve heard. Preferably not Tim Anderson.
