I don't have a link, but I seem to remember the Yankees signing Velazquez to some sort of deal?

Teams are a combined 486-647 in seasons Donnie Murphy gets an MLB AB for them. No team that's given him an AB has ever finished over 500

This doesn't prove he is a bad player just that he plays for bad teams.

He's never been given 140 plate appearances in a single MLB season. He only once posted higher than a .750 OPS in parts of 7 MLB seasons. He's been a consistently productive hitter in the minors. It'd be interesting to see what he can do playing half a season in the majors. And since he can play third base it would have been nice to to watch that chance with the Marlins seeing how most of us like Donnie here. But he's been injured the past couple years missing chances here and it's easy to replace him. I wish Donnie luck.

Hugg doesn't think that stat makes him a bad player.

I never said he did say that; I was just pointing out that stat does not say that.

                        So does the NY Times.

And yeah its an amusing stat, not a meaningful one. Jack Parkman thinks he's a loser. Either by choice or by birth.

They DFA'd Mattison and got some RHP named Dyson from Toronto on waivers that whiffed 38 in 74 innings in A+/AA. Clearly makes Reyes deal look better.

Actually not a bad arm to take a chance on

Taken in 4th Rd of 2010 Draft,Missed 2011 due to TJ and has 1 year of Minor League Action

                              Still is just 25

Mattison was gonna be DFA in ST so might as well just do it now and get a guy who can compete
