If Loria decides to fire Guillen after one season, just as he did current New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi in 2006 — only one year into a three-year deal that he orchestrated — the Marlins would still owe Guillen $7. 5 million.

According to sources, this is all Loria’s call.

The Marlins’ front office has been kept entirely “out of the loop,” according to multiple sources, with regards to Guillen’s future with the team.

I doubt that Ozzie would quit if they fired Cora. He would see right through that and would probably just roll with it and talk shit to the media about Loria at which point Loria would get defensive and then fire Guillen.
