the best part when they decide to do shit like that is that road is and will always be under perpetual construction. Im 29 and that shit has been under annoying traffic stopping construction my entire life. As soon as they finish this major construction, the next major construction will begin.

Jon berti should be our full time SS if he can play passable defense. OR at the very least a platoon where he is playing most days. Wendle is a passable player and of course should be on a major league roster, but he really has no plus tools other than defense. He is passable. Berti on the other hand isnt great, but he is an elite base stealer and has had a tremendous spring. Wendle has been horrific. I want to get to a place where Berti, Arraez, and Jazz are 1-2-3 in the lineup most days, and then slot the power guys behind them to drive them in. Especially with the bigger bases, berti should have a really good year getting on base and wrecking havoc while arraez puts the ball in play and jazz, soler, and cooper drive them in. Maybe they use him in a super utility role though and get him his ab's in different positions every day. this spring though he's got 10 k's and 9 walks so hes seeing the ball really well.

mish just said something on twitter that i havent seen reported about last year- despite our potential interest in schwarber, he wouldnt even meet with us. Cant blame him either. Id play in philly in front of a lot of fans every night over playing in front of 5000 fans 81 times a year. Maybe take that into consideration when debating the soler and garcia signings.

exactly. It needs it, but the way things move down here, it takes so long to actually finish things that by the time it is done, the updates are outdated and more are needed. It will never happen this way, but It's to the point where i wish they would just shut down the highway for 2 weeks and inconvenience a shit ton of people for 2 weeks instead of 10 years, get all their shit in line so that they can go all in on finishing the projects as quickly as possible, and just be done with it.

They were supposed to have started that Golden Glades project 2 years ago, but I guess Covid pushed it back.....which ironically was the time to have done these massive projects when there was much less traffic with people locked up.

THey've been doing the same with the express lanes in Broward - spent years building them, and recently, they've shut down a lane again in them so they can build the concrete dividing wall higher (removing those green slats that block headlights and replacing them with concrete)......why would you not have done that in the original project? You were already doing work there? I guess it's budget related, but like you spent years with all this stuff closed, open it, only to then close part of it again?

The planning only goes X years out - and to your point, by the time they finish it, it's time for the next expansion project.

I'm glad they finally are adding a second NB lane off the 395 to 95....I still think there needs to be a better/more direct route to 95 NB for stadium traffic, though - it's dangerous to have to nearly immediately cross 4-5 lanes of traffic to go north....especially when it's backed up and eastbound traffic isn't.

THat spider bridge thing is going to be interesting looking - saw some progress a few weeks ago. I'm kind of a nerd when it comes to these construction projects - I look up what's being done and timelines and stuff lol.

I think cooper is average, but whatever. If he's healthy, he's a productive hitter and as a free agent to be maybe he finally puts it together and can OPS around .800 and give us a quality bat in the middle of the order. I think C can be average, but it will only be average if Stallings is playing 2x a week max. No defense makes that putrid bat playable. SS will probably be below average, CF above average, LF and RF average depending on how they view Garcia as a bounceback candidate.

The big project to me is their plan to change the interchange where all the highways converge near Hard Rock stadium. It's like 4 different highways combining into 1 and it is consistently backed up no matter what time of day. That interchange and the one from the 826 (or 836, always get the 2 confused) near the marlins park will make a difference.
