I honestly thought Ramos was just an unexciting 25-year old in AA, but I just read he can throw it at 98 mph? Is that correct?

He has put up good numbers the past two seasons. Baseball America has him throwing 91-94, touching 97. Now he may have increased this year. He also throws a hard slider and sometimes mixes in a cambio. I think he coud be a really good seventh or eighth inning guy.

I have always seen him talked about as low 90s with no movement, and works off slider which is his only out pitch (but a pretty good one). Scouts all say MLB hitters will catch up to the fastball but he has a chance to be a 3-4-5 RHP in the pen if he can throw it with enough control to work off slider. Probably a smart idea to get his feet wet as he will be in the mix to be last righty in opening day pen and one of the top callup candidates after that throughout the year.

Ramos hadn't even pitched a game in AA before the year began so I think that's rather unfair.
