After the early XBH's, Nolasco just got downright nasty.

    Great road win!

I was looking for you online earlier so you can get me in contact with Cape and his disturbingly in-depth knowledge of cable providers.

are Johnson and Nolasco the 2nd best 1-2 combo in the NL? right behind Lincecum and Cain.

HOUSTON -- Talk about bouncing back with authority.

Ricky Nolasco, coming off his worst career start, struck out 10 while allowing three hits in a complete game. Dan Uggla, Jorge Cantu and Jeremy Hermida each connected on solo home runs, and the Marlins rallied to a 6-2 win on Tuesday night in front of 30,189 at Minute Maid Park.

Hermida's two-out home run in the eighth inning off Samuel Gervacio produced Florida's 10th hit, marking the 14th straight game the Marlins collected double-digit hits. The most recent team to have 15 in a row was the 1937 St. Louis Browns.

Hanley Ramirez added three hits, as Florida finished with 11.

Nolasco faced the Astros for the second successive start, and the right-hander was seeking to avenge the roughest outing of his career. On Aug. 12 at Land Shark Stadium, he yielded a career-most 10 runs in 3 1/3 innings.

In the first inning, the Astros struck for a pair of runs off Nolasco. With two outs, Lance Berkman doubled to deep center, and on the next pitch Carlos Lee belted a two-run homer to left. It was his 20th home run of the season.

After Lee's homer, Nolasco settled in a big way, retiring 23 straight before Michael Bourn's soft infield single with one out in the ninth inning.

The Marlins grabbed a 5-2 lead in the sixth inning by batting around and pushing across three runs off Bud Norris, who exited after 5 2/3 innings and 94 pitches.

Cantu started the rally with a one-out home run. John Baker doubled, Uggla singled and after Cody Ross was hit by a pitch, Hermida ripped an RBI single to right. Chris Coghlan walked with the bases loaded, capping the scoring.

Ramirez extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a single to right field.

After falling behind by two in the first inning, the Marlins tied it in the fourth inning on Uggla's opposite-field, solo home run. It was his first home run at Minute Maid Park.

Ramirez started off the inning with a single, and he helped manufacture a run by reaching third on Cantu's groundout to third base. Running on the pitch, Cantu bounced sharply to Geoff Blum, who made a nice backhanded play. Ramirez kept sprinting to third on Blum's long throw across the diamond.

Baker's sacrifice fly scored Ramirez, setting up Uggla's 22nd homer of the season.
Nolasco goes distance to top Astros

That was fun! I love the way this team is playing right now.

Ricky was downright nasty after that first inning.

They wouldn't go through the trouble of screwing someone who wagers $10 a pop.

When Ricky's on, there's hardly a more dominant pitcher in the game. The kind of K:BB ratios he racks up are just sick.

And even though he often pisses me off with his lackluster defense and underachieving ways, I just can't quit Hermida.
