Question. What does everyone want the lineup to be? Assuming everyone is healthy, of course.

Either, I assume we will have basically the same lineup plus maybe Upton?

We'll probably sign a 3B for a year or 2 (hopefully Jhonny Peralta).
          --------------------
There's no realistic lineup you can put together for 2013 that would be considered good on paper. That's for sure.

I was mostly thinking about what to do with Logan. At one time wasn't he projected as a possible number two hitter?

Crossing your fingers that Ruggiano can be an 800+ OPS guy next year and signing Upton or Bourn:

              1. Bonifacio, 2b or Bourn, cf
              2. Upton, cf (I hate this but whatever) or Bonifacio, 2b
              3. Reyes, ss
              4. Stanton, rf
              5. Ruggiano, lf
              6. Morrison, 1b
              7. Peralta or other stopgap, 3B
              8. Buck/Brantly, C

I would hit Upton 7th, but I know if they pay him all that money they'll stick him up top until late May when he's got a .305 obp.

I'd like to see Michael Bourn starting in CF and Eric Chavez at 3B. Obviously things could change by November, but this is how I'd like to see the team

                C Buck/Brantly
                1B Morrison
                2B Bonifacio
                SS Reyes
                3B Chavez
LF Absolutely no idea (don't want Ruggiano starting, and the options in free agency aren't looking good). I mean it's looking like Andruw Jones and Juan Pierre could be the most affordably attractive pieces, and their both really bleh options.
                CF Bourn
                RF Stanton

I know some of the trades were necessary, but we're really short at certain positions. LF, 3B, CF, C, and 2B don't really have any definitive players at those positions. Only Stanton, Reyes, Morrison, and maybe Bonifacio can feel safe in knowing that they'll be starting for this team next season.

So you like Reyes batting third?

I'd rather he hit leadoff, but who the hell else is gonna hit 3rd?

Logan? It would give him better pitches to see because the pitcher wouldn't want to get to Giancarlo.

Definitely not Hanley. That guy isn't very good anymore.

Nah, dude. He just had an obviously correctable flaw, that a hitting coach who wasn't hired based on nepotism would point out easily. Duh.

Was Eduardo Perez hired based on nepotism? Has the team regressed significantly offensively since he took over his position?

                                Personally, I would like this.

                                1. Reyes SS
                                2. Morrison 1B
                                3. Stanton RF
                                4. Ruggiano CF
                                5. Chavez/Youkilis 3B..credit to Dim for Chavez
                                6. Left Fielder..I don't know. Maybe someone like Reed Johnson?
                                7. Bonifacio 2B
                                8. Catcher, whether it's Buck, or a platoon at Catcher.

                                It's not much.
