I feel pretty strongly that the season is pretty much over. Can't see the team making a run without it's sole elite bat.
I think lots of guys have been underperforming, which can fuel a second-half run, but if he's really out until the middle of August, I just don't see how they can score enough runs to overcome the five teams ahead of them in the Wild Card race.
If he can come back in 2-3 weeks, maybe they have a run in them. But I just don't think there's nearly enough offense on the team to overcome the loss of Stanton for ~40 games.
Problem is, there's really not much of a package they can put together. That is, unless they wanna deal Yelich, which I doubt happens.
I could see Conley being a centerpiece for Span if Minn believes he can continue to be a starter moving forward. I'm not sure what else is attractive in trade though. I think Hand is from up there so too so maybe they would want him. Those two, and say Dunn/Jennings. A lot of lefties to maybe dish with ok upside. Doesn't change much on the bottom line. Next year's 5 would just be Leblanc/Sanabia/James/vagabonds.
