  • I didn't forget about him, but he is certainly a different class of prospect than Yelich/Fernandez/James/Hand when figuring out what future areas of need are and how much of a leash the organization is going to give them. I also am nowhere near as optimistic as you guys think. I am not expecting much out of James, Hand, Sanabia, Rasmussen, and even Conley (move to pen), so I think they are going to have some SP issues moving forward, but that is a completely different issue than payroll strategy and the organization giving their 'premium' farm talent a legitimate shot. There is no payroll not to do that unless they go to $130-140 range. I don't see that happening.

Realmuto, Perio, Ozuna, Dominguez, Jensen, Smolinski, whoever. These guys are bonuses if they do anything. The farm is pretty much Yelich, Fernandez, Heaney, and some potential 5 starters and relievers.

    • No love for Conley?

      • Have we signed Heaney? This isn't trying to start an e-fight, but it's really hard to be excited about a guy who hasn't made his professional debut yet.

I like him, but I see him and Rasmussen in the bullpen. Conley has a funky delivery. Rasmussen is tiny. I don't really see that as an insult either as I think they could both be really positive relievers ala Cishek vein. It's just probably where they end up.

          • Season's over. Thanks for drafting Fernandez and Yelich, they might be something, but shouldn't a move be made to let a fresh approach oversee the deadline sell-off?

                  • I'd like to know how much input Loria has in these moves. I'm sure Beinfest/Hill have a say, but wasn't it Loria the one who wanted Buck/Bell?

There's no way to know if they are or not, but if they believe in due diligence they should have a handful of candidates ready to interview if need be.
God would be expecting a first pitch breaking ball in the dirt because humans love to disappoint him.

                        • I'll put it in this thread......

I'm not going to attend a game and spend $75 on food and beer as long as they keep giving the ball to Bell in the 9th.

I'll show you, Beinfest and Co!!!!!!!1one!!!!!

I'm actually serious about the not going to the games thing.

                          • I'm serious about the tickets as well. We made a much larger commitment this year than we have in the past, and it's not really worth it. My group was thinking a downgrade next year in total games, but we may do a total downgrade (games/section) or even consider just buying random individual seats if this continues. I personally don't want to pay hundreds of dollars for something that feels like a chore more than enjoyment.

                            • Individual games on Stubhub is the way to go. Very inexpensive.

It really is. I've had some games this year that my friends came back from school and wanted to go to games and I ended up buying tickets on stub hub to the same game I had tickets to already so I could sit with them.
