  • Postgame: Marlins Do a "thing" and Defeat the Rays 4-3 in 15 Innings

When you're 2-8 in your last 10, winning in 15 innings feels like winning the NLCS

I'm shocked we won. I was expecting a 8-2 gut punch.

I had to leave after the 12th.

Just got back from St. Pete. That place is a dump. The hitters' HOF is just a collection of Mitchell/Ness jerseys, cheap give away hats and random memorabilia.

I worry that Hanley will never be "great" again. As it stands he is a decent but unspectacular, and was abysmal last year. And it saddens me.

What saddens is me is that we could have kept Cabrera but we chose talent relative to positional scarcity over absolute talent.

I mean, we didn't do it as a talent upgrade, we just couldn't afford him because we refused to buy out his arbitration years.

I guess I'm assuming things based on that decision not to buy out his arbitration years. It seemed to me that the team was almost willing to let Cabrera go because they had Hanley waiting in the wings and they knew that they couldn't afford both.

Don't forget, Dontrelle Willis started making real money then too (and seemingly lost all control of his stuff)
