That's a fair point, I thought their walk rates were closer than they are. Still, I would have preferred going with the ground ball pitchers with average at worst control than flyball pitcher with great control. Sac fly right then hurts bad with how bad our offense has been, and the chance of Webb or Chishek giving up a walk would have been very low.

Also I doubt that was in Ozzie's consideration considering the whole Dunn with the bases loaded thing (lololol). I think it was a "Mujica is the 8th inning guy" thing

Also also two strait bunts in the 9th with emilio and jose was

I think it's a good thing I have the inability to watch most games currently because I'm not a fan of Ozzie's ingame management.

He's been at 45% or better in the last three seasons, and at 48% this season and last.

Not a groundball pitcher, by any means, but closer to average than he once was.

Didn't have a problem with Reyes' bunt since he was trying to get a hit with it. Boni, on the other hand, is absolutely terrible in terms of trying to sac bunt.

It's tough to have the reliever pitch in the right situations like that because the reliever needs time to warm up. Ozzie would have had to known at the beginning of the inning that he was gon walk the bases loaded.

            Chisek had been warming up

I think he warmed and then sat down

I had more of a problem with Heath Bell pitching in the 9th inning. He has no business closing games right now (specifically, one-run games) and what he did last night did not change my mind about that.

The Marlins seem to be worried more about his lack of control, and I sort of disagree with that.
His control could end up being great, but if his K/9 continues to regress (which is very possible, considering his current 4.5 swstr%), he won't be closing for long.

Considering his struggles, last night was a good time to try something different.

The Giants had two lefties due up; we could've gone to Choate and then gone to a righty (preferably Cishek) to close out that game.

It kinda already sucks to pay a reliever $27 million; it really sucks to pay a reliever $27 million when he sucks.

I hope he turns it around (he probably won't be as bad as he's been all year) and that it's just a 6 inning struggle, but his peripherals were already declining last year.

Baseball is going to be much better the day the save statistic becomes extinct and gets replaced by shutdowns and meltdowns.

I would have liked it if we lost.

Didn't want to see Bell in the 9th, but I'm pleased he got the job done. I hope we're up 1-3 tonight and he gets another shot.
